Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

spray1Dixon Exterminating is committed to  Integrated Pest Management (IPM) because it is a superior and more responsible way to combat pests in the home and workplace.   The goal of the IPM process is to manage the pest population at levels so low that they can be eliminated by normal sanitation practices and pest management tools and procedures.  The result of the IPM process is what’s referred to as “low impact pest management” – a pest management approach that offers several important benefits:

  • Little or no damage to the environment around structures
  • Little to no hazard to non-target organisms (pets and occupants)
  • Produces an environment that is conducive to long term or permanent reduction of the target pest
  • Easier to perform, so more cost-effective for the customer

Dixon Exterminating Company’s IPM process has 4 steps:

1. Inspection
Our trained professionals inspect in and around your structure and talk with you to determine what pests are present.

2. Identification
Where pests are found, we make sure they are properly identified.  From the identification, we can pinpoint their hiding spots.

3. Implementation of IPM Techniques
From the results of steps 1 and 2, we determine what IPM techniques are best suited for your structure; i.e. (sanitation, exclusion, monitoring, trapping, habit modification, design modification, environment controls or chemical application).

4. Program Evaluation
We closely monitor the process and communicate with you to ensure that an effective IPM program is in place and working.  This step is an ongoing process with each visit.
